Arezzo

Arezzo is one of the Tuscan cities that is truly worth visiting. Part of the ancient region of Etruria, it still preserves many monuments and remains from the Roman era. One of the city’s notable buildings is the Basilica of San Francesco, which was begun in 1200 and contains “The History of the True Cross” frescoes by Piero della Francesca. It is also worth visiting Santa Maria della Pieve , a beautiful expression of Romanesque art, as well as the Archaeological Museum, which houses numerous Greek and Etruscan finds, as well as very valuable coins.
